Tires wearing funny?

After several years of hauling my boat from one part of North America the other and down some paths a 4x4 wouldn't go I finally had to replace the axle. I had the standard U axle and it saw to many boulders to the point the tires were both tilted inwards and I was going through the tires. Cost a little over $200 to replace and carries twice the load - now no lake is safe!


If your tires are wearing funny - take a look and see if you have the U axle - chances are it's bent.




Not sure where that motor brace went!

U,V, W, X, Y or Z... nothing will survive that abuse :lol:

That was a paved road Shan :) you should see some of the cliffs :)


I call it "use" and If I can't use it I don't want it. :)


I think the manufacturing companies make these cheap U axles as a way to save money. They bend easily.

Here's a pic of mine after I removed it.

You're a cowboy that's for sure.
Axle picture won't come up but seeing how you "use" your truck beefing it up seems like a good plan. I thought you were going to flip your boat!
