Hey Folks I have a question for cleaning up and getting the sheen on a friends old skeeter bass boat. It has been left a loan for years and it looks rough so my question is. ...
What would you recommend to get the fibreglass boat back to some type of shine?

Thanks for any recommendation

If it is anything like my boat it should get an extra 5 + mph once it is waxed

If it heavily oxidized, it will need some wet sanding with very fine paper to remove the oxidation then some really good wax to bring back the shine. If its possible and within means, have the surface re-gelled . It will look like new again.Lots of elbow grease will be needed if its like this.

If you can't convince them, confuse them.

Sounds like a good project for the students
If its just light oxidization/fade Try cleaning it with a clay bar and then give it a couple of coats of good marine wax,(usually does the trick on cars)
I would try that on a small area first to see if the results are satisfactory, if not, a proper cleaning/de greasing and then waxing might bring back the shine,
here are some helpful tips

If a man speaks in the woods, miles from the nearest woman...is he still wrong?

I am not sure which way we will go. It hasn't seen love in a few years so we may have to wet sand to get the old off before we can apply the new.
This job looks like it will need to have some items purchased such as the electric or air polisher.
With new carpet cleaned hardware and polished fibre glass it should look a lot better.

I got a few students who would love to focus their attention on a project like this. It is rewarding to have a job where you can see such a big change in the results.

Thanks for the links and information
